Crazy couple of busy weeks it has been. It's getting harder and harder to blog but that's enough, i decided to start greasing my blog wheels and start posting again.
I'll take this opportunity to write a HANDS-DOWN to David Sedaris, my "author of the month". I just finished Me Talk Pretty One Day a collection of biographical essays that alternate between sidesplitting humor and beautifully written observations of "tragi-comic" human experience. Buy this book, i'll buy it back from you if it didn't even trigger a slightest chuckle.
Funny, it seems that all the books my sister recommends to me are ones you recommended to her! The chapter i keep reading over and over again (still now!) is one of the first chapters, the one where he describes his father's, uh...unsuccessful attempt at forcing his kids to learn an instrument. Absolutely hilarious.

Ito,
That's one of my favorite books. I believe I recommended it to your sister last year and she just read it too. As a matter of fact, I believe that I have re-read the chapter "You can't kill the Rooster" four or five times. It's just too funny.
The story is funny and very tender, linking his childhood lisp and being gay into how he feels as an outsider living in Paris. Anyone going through culture shock can definitely relate.
You may also want to try "Naked" or "Barrel Fever". His latest book "Dress your Family..." is funny but not his best.
