As I endure these times of utter despair (ie. life without my laptop) I found a good way to distract myself. Remember back in school when you used to build little paper airplanes and fly them across the classroom only to get yelled at by your teacher. Well, here's a really cool site that will help you re-discover the magic of flight with a simple sheet of A4 paper. Thanks Alvy!
Greetings to all of you! I just came back from 10 memorable days in Menorca where my sister just got married. She's now off on her honey moon and I'm back in Paris, back to reality. These last days have been emotinally charged, seeing friends and relatives I hadn't seen in ages (for some, it had been 20 years!) and most importantly, seeing my sister start a new chapter and enter married life. Not always easy for a little brother to see his only sister getting married. But more than anything though, it fills me with joy to see her embark on this journey. This wedding was out of this world by its sheer grandeur: a dream-like setting over-looking the turquoise waters of the mediterranean, 250 guests from around the world, exquisite wines, excellent argentino-franco-spanish cuisine, groovy music and just an amazing atmosphere. Truly surreal and overwhelming.
Now that I'm back in Paris, I'm excited to start blogging again, post some articles, new music, new film reviews etc... and hopefully continue to get some feedback from you guys. Let's get the conversation going...

My french grand-mother will always amaze me. This afternoon, I left my laptop on in the kitchen while I went upstairs to fetch a book, only to come back and find Mamie surfing away (or almost). What a sight! Ever-curious and always wanting to figure out how things work, she very quickly learned how to use a mouse and surf through my blog. Incredible. Never under-estimate an 87 year old's capacity to adapt to the 21st century! I wouldn't be surprised to see a MamieBlog up and running by the end of the year!

I recently came back from a short weekend trip to Brittany with my friend Odile. It was really nice to "re-discover" the summer holidays à la française. We stayed with her aunts and cousins and it reminded me so much of my childhood summers in rented cottages along the beach. View a short slideshow.

Van Gogh suspect confesses guilt
Mohammed Bouyeri, 27, said he acted out of his religious beliefs and that he would do "exactly the same" if he were ever set free.
Prosecutors say Mr Bouyeri killed Mr Van Gogh in a ritualistic murder committed in the name of radical Islam.
The November 2004 murder shocked the Netherlands and raised ethnic tensions.
Mr Bouyeri, who has dual Dutch-Moroccan nationality, could face a life sentence if he is convicted.
"I take complete responsibility for my actions. I acted purely in the name of my religion," he told the court in Amsterdam.
"I can assure you that one day, should I be set free, I would do exactly the same, exactly the same," he added.
His lawyer told the court on Monday there would be no defence case put forward by Mr Bouyeri or on his behalf.
'Martyr' hopes
Mr Bouyeri is accused of shooting and stabbing Mr Van Gogh to death as he cycled along an Amsterdam street.
A note stuck to his body with a knife threatened the Somali-born Dutch MP Ayaan Hirsi Ali, who wrote the script for Mr van Gogh's film Submission, about violence against women in Islamic society.
Mr Bouyeri was arrested following a shoot-out with police just minutes after Mr Van Gogh's killing.
The prosecution said Mr Bouyeri had hoped to die a "martyr" at the hands of the police. The murder sparked a wave of revenge attacks on mosques and counter-attacks against Christian churches in the Netherlands.
